This closing the borders business really has done wonders for my free time. If I'm not popping off across the Channel every five minutes, there's no end to the things I can get done! I actually won at mahjongg last week, which was such a remarkable honour, though I still suspect there may have been an accident made in someone's adding up. I'm on top of my correspondence for the first time since 1973. And my garden is... well, let's not get carried away. It's starting to almost look like it might one day be under control. I've tamed the hyacinths and in the process found the path again, as well as a little statue of a startled cherub I don't ever remember acquiring, but perhaps it was Tulia's. I do still recommend any visitors give the strawberry patch a wide berth, or perhaps carry a large stick.
On the downside, I've found myself nodding off in the early evenings, and even once in the afternoon! Can't be having with that. That's something old men do!
AlbusNews from Germany unfortunately not reassuring. Ademar's sworn to continue presenting our case, but in the absence of direct representation, he's not hopeful. If only the blighters had waited another few months on this border nonsense. Our informal allies remain committed to what aid they can manage from a distance. I'm sure they'll come in handy somehow.
OrderActually, the hyacinths have merely been persuaded not to bother members of our clandestine fraternity - oh, I do beg your pardon ladies: and sorority, also. My house, as ever, remains open to those who require it, even in my absence. I mean it about the strawberries, though.
